How to Install Evolution X Android 14 GSI ROM [Video]

In this guide, we will show you the steps to install the latest Evolution X GSI ROM based on Android 14 onto your device. This is where the role of a Generic System Image comes into the frame. Since these are generic in nature, they are supported across all Project Treble devices [those launched with Android 8.0+ out of the box]. Be it LineageOS, Pixel Experience, Evolution X, or crDroid, you could install all these types of ROMs onto your device even if they were specifically not available as a custom ROM for your device!

Moreover, there’s no cutting short of features in these GSI ROms when compared with their actual counterpart. So you’re guaranteed all the same goodies that the ROM has to offer along with the latest OS version and some exclusive Phh Settings. So without any further ado, let’s make you aware of the steps to install the Evolution X GSI ROM based on Android 14 onto your device.

STEP 1: Install Android SDK

install adb platform tools windows

First and foremost, you will have to install the Android SDK Platform Tools on your PC. This is the official ADB and Fastboot binary provided by Google and is the only recommended one. So download it and then extract it to any convenient location on your PC. Doing so will give you the platform tools folder, which will be used throughout this guide to install Evolution X Android 14 GSI ROM on your device.

STEP 2: Enable USB Debugging and OEM Unlocking

Next up, you will also have to enable USB Debugging and OEM Unlocking on your device. The former will make your device recognizable by the PC in ADB mode. This will then allow you to boot your device to Fastboot Mode. On the other hand, OEM Unlocking is required to carry out the bootloader unlocking.
