Stutter and Lag on iOS 17: Here’s one way to fix them!

In this guide, we will show you a nifty workaround to fix the stutter and lags on iOS 17. The latest OS build has recently been told out by Apple and so has been a plethora of intriguing features. On the flip side though, it isn’t free from its fair share of bugs either. In this regard, issues with Contact Posters, iMessage Search, Reminders, and Sleep Focus have given quite a tough time to the end users. Unfortunately, this isn’t the end of the road.

Numerous users have also voiced their concern that they are witnessing a relatively higher degree of stutter and lag on their iPhones after updating to the latest iOS 17 build. Two of the most prominent locations where it tends to happen include scrolling between the pages on the home screen and the swipe down to check the notification center.

It’s really astonishing to note that users are having to deal with such issues on such high-end flagships because after spending such an astronomical amount of money, a poor usage experience is probably the last thing that would want to have, even though the OS side likely to blame instead of the hardware. On the fortunate side, there does exist a nifty workaround that might help you rectify this issue. So without further ado, let’s check it out.

As surprising as it may sound, the culprit behind this issue is the search bar on the Home Screen. So all you need to do is simply disable it from Settings > Home Screen & App Library and disable the toggle next to Show on Home Screen. While this will remove the search bar, but you can still swipe down to search, and more importantly, the stutter and lags on iOS 17 would be rectified. So it is definitely worth a trade-off.

  • And like always I was initially so happy that someone finally acknowledged the issue I’m facing since update, only to be disappointed again… See, I’m disappointed because I have exactly the same issue, that being the lag when swiping between home pages. Only problem is that I have iPhone SE 2020 that famously doesn’t have a search bar instead of dots indicating what page of the Home Screen I’m currently on, so what do I have to turn off to rectify this issue?!… iOS is really going to shit these last few years. Bugs lag and stutter… I thought that’s something only android do, but since you can buy android phone with 90 or 120hz for fraction of the price of an iPhone… I don’t know it seems that android is actually becoming the smoother one and maybe even better deal. Last thing Apple have is that they at least still make somewhat compact phones, but they are even getting rid of those so what am I even buying iPhones for when I could get same (or maybe even smoother) user experience for less money!?!…

  • Thank you so much!!!!
