  1. To begin with, use the Windows+I shortcut keys to launch the Settings menu.
  2. Then select Accounts from the left menu bar and go to the Sign-in options.

  3. Now expand the PIN (Windows Hello) and as of now, the Remove option will be greyed out.

  4. So scroll down to the Additional Settings section and turn off the toggle next to:
    For improved security, only allow Windows Hello sign-in for Microsoft accounts on this device

  5. Once that is done, close this page. Then again go to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options.
  6. Expand the PIN (Windows Hello) section and the Remove button will no longer be greyed out.
