In this guide, we will show you the steps to fix the issue of Pixel devices running Android 12 being stuck at 0% charging. Now that the latest iteration of OS has made its way over to the stable build, users are busy getting acquainted with a plethora of new and intriguing features. However, all these seem to be taking quite a toll on Pixel devices.

To top it all of is the fact that is near about an impossible task in charging these new flagships via any other third-party charger. And now there’s another entry to this list. In reality, that isn’t really the case as the battery is indeed charged to a certain level. To verify it, they went to Settings > Battery and it is displaying the correct battery percentage there. So the issue is only with the battery value that is being shown in the notification bar. Moreover, this issue is bugging every Pixel device that has been blessed with Android 12.

So from the Pixel 3 series all the way up to the latest Pixel 6/Pro, all have been a part of this unwanted bug list. With that said, there does seem to exist a workaround that has spelled out success for a few users. And in this guide, we will make you aware of just that. So without further ado, here’s how you could fix the issue of Pixel devices running Android 12 being stuck at 0% charging.

Since the Settings menu is displaying the correct battery level, so it is only a software-related UI glitch and not a hardware (battery) related issue as such. So the below-given workarounds might be enough to fix it once and for all.

FIX 1: The Battery Percentage Tweak

In this method, we will temporarily use a third-party battery app that would display its own battery percentage. Once that happens, we will then toggle (off > on) the system battery percentage and finally uninstall that third-party battery app. Doing so shall fix the underlying issue as well! So without further ado, let’s put this workaround to test right away.

  1. To begin with, download and install any app that is able to display battery percentage in the Notification bar.
  2. As for this guide, we will be using the Battery Widget Reborn app. So download and install it from the Play Store.
  3. Now launch the app and make sure that it is displaying the current battery level in the status bar.

  4. After that, go to the Settings > Battery menu on your device and disable the Battery Percentage option.

  5. Now restart your device and then re-enable the Battery Percentage option.
fix pixel stuck at 0% charging
  6. At this stage, you will be getting two battery percentage statuses. one from the third-party app and the other from your system.
  7. So go ahead and uninstall the battery app that you had earlier installed.

  8. With this, you are only left with the battery percentage meter from the OS, and more importantly, with the correct values.

However, if this method didn’t manage to fix the issue of Pixel devices running Android 12 being stuck at 0% charging, then you might have to opt for the last resort, as explained below.

FIX 2: Factory Reset your Pixel (Android 12)

Some users have reported the first fix didn’t spell out success for them. Rather they instead had to opt for the factory reset and it did manage to rectify the underlying issue for some of the affected users. So if you are willing to take this nuclear approach then make sure to have a complete device backup beforehand, and then refer to the below instruction steps:

  1. To begin with, head over to the settings menu on your device.
  2. Then go to System > Reset Options and select Erase All Data (factory reset).
