Blur not working with Collections Wallpaper in iOS 16/iPhone 14 Pro

In this post, we will be discussing a bug wherein the Blur effect is not working with Collections wallpapers on iOS 16 & iPhone 14 Pro. The latest iteration of the OS build has bought a slew of intriguing customization features to the fore, with the lock screen managing to take away all the limelight.

In this regard, the ability to add lock screen widgets, add Depth effects in wallpapers, change the notification styles, and add blur effects are just some of the noteworthy changes. However, the latter is giving out a tough time to the end users.

Numerous iPhone 14 Pro users running iOS 16 have voiced their concern that the blur effect is not working along the expected lines. Even though the Blue effect has been disabled, iPhone still ends to add it to any wallpaper that you apply from the stock Collections. In the preview window, it displays correctly without any blur, however as soon as it is applied and users invoke the lock screen to view it, the blur effect tends to re-appear.

It doesn’t seem to respect the Blur setting and tends to add the said effect to any wallpaper that you apply from the Collections segment. Moreover, with the latest beta, we are witnessing a rather more concerning change. With iOS 16.1 Beta, the Blur option, which is present at the bottom right, has been completely greyed out for all the Collections wallpaper.

With that said, we will be keeping a close watch on this story and would update it as and when there is any further development.
