Many users still cannot link Discover Card to Apple Wallet

The seventeenth iteration of the OS has bought in a slew of intriguing goodies, including the likes of Phone, Messages. FaceTime, Widgets, and Music all being the beneficiary in one form or the other. Over the course of time, it keeps on adding even more features to its arsenal, with the latest one being the ability to link Discover Cards to Apple Wallet.

This will then allow you to view your debit/credit card balances and full transaction history, including all purchases (debits) as well as credits like payments and returns. This feature was first rolled out in the UK and now, with the iOS 17.1 Beta 3 update, it has subsequently reached the US as well. Moreover, major banks like Barclays, HSBC, Lloyds, RBS, Monzo, and Starling have all jumped over this bandwagon. However, many users are still unable to get hold of this feature.

Many users have voiced their concern that they cannot link their Discover Card to Apple Wallet because the “See Balances and Full Transaction History for This Account” card option is missing from the Apple Wallet. They tried removing the card and then re-adding it back in, but that made no difference whatsoever. They even tried doing so via the Discover app, but still, the result was futile.

What Could be the Reason?

One interesting thing to note is that this issue is being reported by a tiny minority of users, most of the users having the same card and living in the same location have already received this feature. So rather than being an issue, it could just be the fact that it is a server-side delay and Apple is slowly rolling out this feature to the masses. So all you can do is play the waiting game until your device is blessed with this functionality.

How to Fix If You Cannot Link Discover Cards to Apple Wallet

As of now, there doesn’t seem to be any official or unofficial workaround that could spell out success. Moreover, since it is just a delay from Apple’s side, hence there might not be fixes or patches released as such. You would just have to wait for a few days and the feature will ultimately land on your device.
