How to Disable 5G on Pixel 6/Pro/6A
There exist three different methods to get this job done- via the Settings menu, using a hidden code, and via root. The first method is the easiest of the three but in some instances, the carrier tends to disable this functionality. If that is the case with your device as well, then you should try out the second or third approach.
Disable 5G on Pixel 6/Pro/6A via Settings Menu
- Head over to the Settings menu on your device.
- Then go to Network and Internet and tap on SIMs.
- After that, go to the Preferred Network Type section.
- Finally, select 4G/LTE from the list. That’s it.
Disable 5G on Pixel 6/Pro/6A via Hidden Code
- Bring up the Dialer and input the below code

- Then select Phone Information and tap on Set Preferred Network Type.
- Now choose a network type that has LTE/GSM/WCDMA.
- Just make sure that it doesn’t have NR [which denotes 5G] but has LTE [4G].
Disable 5G on Pixel 6/Pro/6A via Root

- Download and install a root-supported file explorer [such as Solid File Explorer].
- Then launch it, grant it the Magisk SuperUser request, and go to the below location:
/data/user_de/0/com.android.phone/files
- There will be an XML file whose name will be starting with carrier, open it.
- Now look for the below line and change it from true to false.

- Finally, save the changes and restart your device.
