In order to fix this issue, you will have to install the pending updates to the Google App as well as to all the other apps provided by Google that are currently installed on your device. As surprising as it may sound, but doing so did manage to rectify the issue for the users who were currently getting bugged with this issue.

For some, just updating the Google App from the Play Store did the job. Whereas others had to update all the apps provided by Google, including Gmail, Photos, Chrome, Duo, GPay among others. So proceed ahead with the below steps to try it out:

  1. Launch Play Store and tap on your profile situated at the top right.
  2. Then select Manage apps and Devices from the menu.
  3. After that, go to the Manage tab and make sure that the first filter is set to Installed.
  4. Likewise, select the Updates Available filter as well.

  5. It will now bring a list of all the apps whose updates are available.
  6. Select all the apps from Google and then tap on the Update button situated at the top right.
  7. Now, wait for all these apps to be updated. Once done, restart your device and the issue should be rectified.
