Dual SIM not working on OnePlus 7T Android 12 [Fix]

In this guide, we will make you aware of a nifty workaround to fix the issue of Dual SIM not working on your OnePlus 7T after installing the Android 12 update. For many, the seventh iteration of the devices from OnePlus was the time when OEM truly reached its peak and it has only been a downfall ever since, both across the hardware and software front. If we talk about the latter one, then the device has officially been blessed with its last OS update- the OxygenOS 12.

With this, you are now even closer to ColorOS than ever before. But we could criticize its UI some other day as users are now having to deal with a much more concerning issue- the dual SIM is not working on their OnePlus 7T after installing the latest Android 12 update. As a result of this, they are unable to send or receive calls and SMS, thereby making their device literally useless.

As of now, your best bet is to downgrade your device to the earlier stable OS build, i.e. Android 11. This could either be done via the official downgrade package that OnePlus provide or via the MSM Download Tool as well. However, do note that the process will wipe off all the data, so please take a backup beforehand and then refer to our guide on How to Downgrade OnePlus 7/7T/7T Pro Android 12 to Android 11 [3 Methods].

That’s it. These were the steps to fix the issue of Dual SIM not working on your OnePlus 7T after installing the Android 12 update. As far as the official stance on this matter is concerned, the developers are aware of this issue, but they haven’t given out any ETA for the rollout of a fix. As and when that happens, we will update this guide accordingly. In the meantime, the aforementioned workaround is your best bet.

UPDATE

The issue is only with the second SIM slot. So while you will be able to fix this issue by putting your “more important” SIM into the first slot and transferring the other SIM to the second slot. However, this will then make your second SIM non-operable. So this might not qualify as the best ix for the masses, but might at least save you from performing a downgrade if you majorly interact with one of two SIMs only.
