The latest underlying OS skin from OnePlus in the form of OxygenOS 14/ColorOS 14 brings a slew of intriguing goodies and noteworthy features to the fore. These include Aquamorphic Design 2.0, Trinity Engine, and a combination of HyperRendering, HyperTouch, and HyperBoast. However, on the flip side, it seems to be giving quite a tough time to custom launchers.
Swipe Up Gesture Delay in Third-Party Launchers on OnePlus OxygenOS 14
Numerous OnePlus users have voiced their concern that they are witnessing a considerable delay when carrying out the swipe up gesture in third-party launchers on OxygenOS 14. According to the users, if they are inside an app and want to directly go to the home screen, they perform a swipe up gesture but have to then wait for a couple of seconds before the icons appear on the screen.
This behavior is noticeable across numerous custom launchers and various OnePlus devices, the only common factor being the fact that all these devices are running the latest OxygenOS 14. So either there have been some major code-base changes under the hood that seem to have skipped through the eyes of custom launcher developers or the OEM is itself making it difficult for the users to leave its ecosystem and try out third-party launchers.
From the user’s perspective, they are compelled to jump to the other side of the fence and give a shot at these launchers due to the lack of customizations that the stock launcher has to offer.
