In this guide, we will show you the steps to fix the issue of the Locked Folder missing in the Camera app in Pixel 7/Pro. As is the tradition with each iteration of the Pixel devices, the seventh generation has also added quite a few camera goodies, with the likes of Unblur taking away much of the limelight. Apart from that, it has also carried onward some of the features from its predecessor, such as the Magic Eraser.
While that’s all well and good, some Pixel 7/Pro users have recently voiced their concern that the Locked Folder option is missing from the Camera app. Till Pixel 6, you could easily access it by tapping the folder icon situated at the top right and then selecting the Locked Folder option. However, with the seventh generation, that folder icon is nowhere to be found.
To rectify it, users have already tried the basic workarounds of deleting the data and cache of the camera and Google Photos, uninstalling updates and then re-installing it from Play Store, and even resetting their device, but none of them spelled out success. If you are also currently getting bugged with this issue, then this guide shall help you out. Follow along for the fix.
Fix Locked Folder missing in Camera app in Pixel 7/Pro
First off, let’s address the elephant in the room- Locked Folder has not been removed from the Camera app in Pixel 7/Pro. it is still there, it’s just that its location has been changed. You will now have to long press on the image preview circle present at the bottom right to bring up a menu and then select the Locked Folder.
While this change doesn’t make any sense whatsoever, however, the bigger issue lies in the fact that Google should have at least informed us beforehand, either via its Pixel Tips or when we launched the camera app for the first time. Anyways, this is how things stand and you will have to get used to this new location sooner than later.
With that in mind, we round off this guide on how you could fix the issue of the Locked Folder missing in the Camera app in Pixel 7/Pro. Do share your valuable opinions with us in the comments section below.
