1. To begin with, add Gboard to the cover screen via Goodlock.
2. Then enable USB Debugging on your device and connect it to PC via USB cable.
   
3. Now download and extract Android SDK Platform Tools on your PC.
4. Then type in cmd in the folder address bar and hit enter. This will launch the Command Prompt.
   
5. Now type in the below command in the CMD window to uninstall the Samsung Keyboard app:

   adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.samsung.android.honeyboard

6. You might now get a prompt on your device, tap Allow/OK. Then restart your device.
7. Wait for a few seconds and Gboard should appear on the cover screen.
8. So launch it and set the same theme and height as it was before
9. Now go into Google Messages from the outer screen. Then tap on the text field and nothing will happen.
10. So press Home, then go right back into Google Messages and tap again. The keyboard should now appear.
