How to Add Safari Web Apps to a Folder on Dock

In this guide, we will show you a couple of methods to add the Safari Web Apps to a Single Folder on your Dock. The fourteenth iteration of the OS has bought a slew of intriguing goodies to the fore, one among which is the ability to create individual web apps for any website. To carry out this task, just head over to Safari’s File menu and choose “Add to Dock”.

Then give it a name and hit Add and your site will be added to the dock as an application, similar to the other ones already present there. While there’s no limitation to the number of Web Apps that you could create, however, each new app that you could create would only further clutter your dock.

This is because the default behavior of these apps is to get automatically added to the dock. It would have been a much better option if these Safari Web Apps were added to a single folder on your Dock. Well, guess what, there does exist a couple of nifty workarounds through which you could get this job done. So without further ado, let’s check them out.

Go through both these methods once and then try out the one which is in sync with your requirement.

Method 1

You could create a custom folder and then manually move all your web apps there. You could then drag and drop this folder to the dock and access all your web apps under one roof without cluttering your dock. The drawback of this method is you cannot instruct Safari to automatically add the web apps to your custom folder, either in the Finder or on the Dock.

Method 2

Since the web apps are stored under the Applications folder, you could simply add that folder to the Dock. The benefit of this method is that each newly created web app will be automatically added to the Apps folder in the Dock, so it negates the need for any manual intervention. On the flip side though, the Apps folder would also house non-web normal applications, so it might be a tad difficult in finding your preferred web apps from the plethora of apps present there.

That’s it. These were the two different methods to add the Safari Web Apps to a Single Folder on your Dock. If you have any queries concerning the aforementioned steps, do let us know in the comments. We will get back to you with a solution at the earliest.
