Siri iOS 16 error: “Sorry, I can’t recognize music right now”

In this guide, we will be discussing about the Siri iOS 16 error: “Sorry, I can’t recognize music right now”. In the sixteenth iteration of the OS build, there has been an addition of a plethora of noteworthy features. Likewise, some apps have also undergone UI tweaks and functionality changes, but some of these changes haven’t been welcomed with open hands by the users. The best example among them is Apple’s virtual assistant.

Siri iOS 16 error: “Sorry, I can’t recognize music right now”

Till iOS 16. whenever you asked Siri to identify a song, it would listen to that song for a few seconds and then bring up the correct result. After that, you just need to tap on that result and the song will be opened in the default player. However, beginning with iOS 16, that song will now open in Shazam, even if it isn’t your default music player.

To make the matter worse, numerous users have voiced their concern that Siri is now unable to recognize the doing being played on their iPhone 16 device and is instead giving out the following error: “Sorry, I can’t recognize music right now. Please try again in a bit“. This is happening across both WiFi and cellular data and is only bugging the latest OS build.

Moreover, at the time of writing, there doesn’t seem to be any workaround that might help you mitigate, let alone fix it. As far as the official stance on this matter is concerned, the developers are yet to acknowledge this issue, let alone give out any ETA for the rollout of a fix. As and when any of these two things happen, we will update this guide accordingly. In the meantime, the aforementioned workarounds are your best bet.
