FIX 1: Boot to Safe Mode

In some cases, a third-party app or service might conflict with the proper functioning of the  OS. To verify the same, your first course of action is to boot your device to Safe Mode. Doing so will disable all the third-party apps and if this rectifies the underlying issue then the culprit is definitely a third-party app that needs to be disabled at the earliest. Here’s how it could be done:

  1. Long press the power button to bring up the Power menu. Then press and hold the Reboot option.
  2. This will bring up the Safe Mode prompt, tap OK. Your device will now boot to Safe Mode.Sensors not working on Pixel 7 Pro
  3. Check if all the sensors are working or not. If they are, then reboot your device back to normal mode.
  4. Now uninstall each third-party app, one at a time, until all the sensors are working on the Pixel 7 Pro.

FIX 2: Perform a Sensor Test

  1. Before actually tagging it as an issue with the sensor, let’s first perform a test to verify the same.
  2. To do so, install the DevCheck app from Play Store. Then launch it and go to the Sensors tab.
  3. Now perform the test corresponding to the desired sensors and check out the results.

FIX 3: Factory Reset your Device

We usually recommend doing a factory reset at the end but since all the other fixes listed below anyways require a factory reset, it’s better to check it off the list right away itself. However, it goes without saying that the process will wipe off all the data from your device, so please take a backup beforehand.

  1. Head over to Settings > System > Reset Option > Erase All Data.
  2. Then tap on Erase All Data and wait for the process to complete.Sensors not working on Pixel 7 Pro

FIX 4: Use Pixel Repair

FIX 5: Flash Persist Partition

Some of the sensory data [including the fingerprint] is housed inside the persist partition. If any of these partitions get corrupted, then there are bound to be issues with the sensors. Therefore, you should consider reflashing the persist partition, as explained below [the process will wipe off all the data from your device and might nullify the warranty, so take a complete device backup beforehand]

  1. To begin with, unlock the bootloader on your device.
