Pixel Watch 2 not charging: How to Fix

In this guide, we will show you a couple of workarounds that might help you fix the issue of the Pixel Watch 2 not charging. The second iteration in the Pixel smartwatch family comes with a faster performance, new sensors, and new health and safety features as compared to its predecessor. Under the hood, it beholds the latest WearOS 4 OS based on Android, and its performance seems to be quite impressive. However, not many are able to make full use of these features.

This is owing to the fact that the Pixel Watch 2 is not charging for many users. Even though the users have correctly placed the watch on the charger and oriented perfectly for the pins (i.e. the cord coming off the same direction as the crown), they are still greeted with the “Waiting for watch to charge” error message. Moreover, going through the plethora of numerous users, one thing stood in common- the charging cable that was provided with the watch just refused to work.

For others, their watch was being charged intermittently via that cable. To make the entire matter worse, the Google Support team is of no help either. If you are also currently getting bugged by these issues, then this guide will help you out. Follow along for the fixes.

It is recommended that you try out each of the below-mentioned workarounds and then see which one spells out success. So with that in mind, let’s get started.

Replace Charger/Cable

many users have said that the cable provided in the box didn’t charge their watch. But as soon as they got hold of a second charger [either from the official Google Store or a third-party one such as a Fitbit Versa charger], they were able to successfully charge their watch.

Contact Google Store Team

Instead of getting in touch with the Support Team, you should contact the Store team. For that, sign in to your Google One Account and start a live chat with a Google One support agent.  Tell them you have a defective watch and you would like to be transferred to a support agent with the Google Store team to issue an RMA (exchange). Do not let them transfer you to the Google Watch team. If they still do so, then end that chat session and start all over again.

Many users had to do so numerous times until they were able to get in touch with the Store team. Once you get transferred to a Google Store support agent in the chat, they should issue an RMA. This tweak has worked for a handful of users, so it is worth of a try.

That’s it. These were a couple of methods that might help you fix the issue of the Pixel Watch 2 not charging. As far as the official stance on this matter is concerned, the developers are yet to acknowledge this issue, let alone give out any ETA for the rollout of a fix. As and when any of these two things happen, we will update this guide accordingly. In the meantime, the aforementioned workarounds are your best bet.
