iOS 17 SIM Card Failure: Is there a fix, Apple?

The seventeenth iteration of the OS has brought in quite a few goodies with itself but at the same time, it has also paved the way for some serious issues making their way. From the inability of the device to charge to no sound during calls, the list is quite a lengthy one. To make matters worse, some of the bugs haven’t even been addressed by the Cupertino giant. And you could now add another issue to this list.

Numerous users have voiced their concern that they are facing SIM Card failure issues right after updating their iPhones to the latest iOS 17 build. As a result of which, they are unable to place and receive calls, when combined with the two issues listed above, your device transforms into just a paperweight! And just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse, the issue seems to be even affecting the physical SIM card itself!

To be more specific, if you take out the SIM card from your current iPhone and place it in any other device, then you won’t be able to make calls via that device as well! So the buggy iOS 17 update seems to have done some permanent damage to the SIM card itself, which is a first!  So this begs the all-important question: is there a fix? Let’s find out.

As of now, your only workaround is to get in touch with your carrier and ask them for a new physical SIM because the existing SIM card has been corrupted by Apple [damn!].

This is really a sad state of affairs and quite infuriating and surprising in equal measures that a bug could end up causing such a great deal of problems to the end users [some were using SIM cards on international roaming, so they now have to revisit their country and only then can they get a replacement SIM card from their carrier.
