- First off, install the drivers for your Xperia 1 IV | 1 V.
- Then download and install XperiFirm on your PC.
- Now download the desired region’s firmware via it.
- Then extract the firmware and transfer the three modem files to a new folder.
- Now download and install NewFlasher on your PC.
- Copy the NewFlasher.exe file and send it to that folder that has 3 modems.
- Now boot your phone into flash mode (plug-in USB then boot while holding Vol Down)
- Then open CMD and run newflasher.exe. That’s it. The flashing will now start.
Now let’s suppose we have e flashed US modem and want to force enable 5G [NR], then here’s what you need to do after flashing the US modem using the aforementioned instructions
- Open the phone app and dial *#*#4636#*#*
- Then go to pick Phone Information -> 3 dots in the top right -> Select Radio Band.
- Now choose the desired region, which in our case is the US.
- Then go back and set the Preferred Network Type to NR/LTE/GSM/WCDMA.
- You should see NR Available True and NR State NOT_RESTRICTED.
