In this guide, we will show you the steps to fix the issue of apps asking for system permissions on every restart of your Mac. Numerous users have voiced their concern that even though they have granted the required permissions to the desired third-party apps, yet when they reboot their PC, those apps tend to once again ask for the same permissions to be enabled. And the best part? Those permissions are already enabled when they check out under System Settings.
Disabling and then re-enabling the permission does seem to rectify the issue, but that is just for the current session. The next time they restart their Mac, the apps will once again ask for system permissions. So is there an end to this never-ending loop? Well, there does exist a nifty method that should help you rectify this bug. So without further ado, let’s check it out.
Fix Apps asking for system permissions on every Mac restart
The culprit behind this issue is the buggy TCC [Transparency, Consent, and Control]. So to rectify this issue, you’ll have to reset its database. However, do note that after resetting the database, you’ll have to grant permission for every app once again, but this is just a one-time effort and since it is rectifying the underlying issue, it’s worth a try. With that in mind, launch Terminal and just execute the below command:
tccutil reset All
After executing the above command, your Mac might freeze for a few seconds, which is completely normal. Once that is done, just reassign the permissions to your apps once and this should fix the issue of apps asking for system permissions on every Mac restart.
