The fifteenth iteration of the devices has just been released by the Cupertino giant and while there’s is always an element of hype surrounding their launch, this time around there’s a completely different type of anticipation. Due to the European’s Union decision, from now onwards, all Apple devices need to be shipped with a USB C Port instead of Apple’s trademark lightning port. And this decision has affected a majority of the audiences.

For instance, we have come across numerous reports wherein users who have recently purchased AirPods Pro 2 that comes with a lightning port are now planning to make a shift to the latest iPhones. So isn’t Apple just selling USB-C AirPods Pro cases as a standalone purchase for them or the users in general? Unfortunately, no. You will now have to shell out the entire $249 and get hold of a new AirPods Pro 2 with USB C Ports.
In the past when Apple decided to make a switch to wireless earbuds it did give users the option to simply purchase the case. So why is the tech giant not deciding to do so is anyone’s guess. Maybe at that point in time, it was Apple’s own decision to make a switch but this time around it has been forced into doing so, hence it has no intention this time around to make it lighter on the pockets of its userbase.
Another intriguing or rather infuriating thing is that if the USB C AirPods Pro is required to work with the Vision Pro but the same generation AirPods Pro bought a week ago doesn’t. What about users with an AppleCare+ subscription? Well, they aren’t given any benefit in this regard either.
All in all, you cannot exchange AirPods Pro 2 Lightning Case with USB C, and Apple’s environmentally friendly approach could take a back seat when it comes to revenue-generating mechanism!
