So it might be the case of the phone chassis not being rigid enough to allow the phone to flex while in the pockets. Talking about which, it could also be that these covers (mostly from Spigen and Otterbox) might be applying too much pressure on the curved screen.

While the Silicon Valley giants haven’t yet officially addressed this issue, a user has said that “Google has agreed to a replacement and is making an exception to consider the phone in warranty”. We can’t really verify the claims and even if it turns out to be true, he/she might be the only one that has stuck the right chord as none of the other affected users managed to spell out any success regarding this.
