Destiny 2 Weekly Challenge Empty Grief: How to Complete

In this guide, we will show you the steps to complete the Destiny 2 Weekly Challenge Empty Grief. This online multiplayer first-person shooter video game from Bungie boasts of a multiplayer “shared-world” environment with elements of role-playing games. Moreover, it comes with two different game modes, player versus environment and player versus player. The former comes with three-player “strikes” and dungeons and six-player raids whereas the latter has the objective-based and deathmatch modes.

However, in spite of all the goodies attached, the game isn’t free from its fair share of issues either. As of now, various Destiny 2 users have voiced their concern that they are unable to complete the Destiny 2 Weekly Challenge Empty Grief. This challenge requires you to complete the Server [grief] with a void subclass and one of the three weapon subclasses- void, kinetic, or stasis weapons. However, even on obeying these rules and completing the challenge, the mission still counts as not completed. So why is this happening and more importantly, how to fix this issue? Let’s check it out.

How to Complete Destiny 2 Weekly Challenge Empty Grief

If you use the scythe or witherhoard to complete the “Empty Grief” challenge, then the bug will make its way and will cause a few issues. Most noticeably, it will tag the scythe as a solar weapon and hence it will not be counted in the successful completion of the challenge. So equip your Void subclass, and either Void, Kinetic, or Stasis weapons and you should have no trouble in completing the mission. In this regard, you could try out the following combinations-

  • Use Void-lock, Heart Shadow, void fusion from GoS, and the nightmare kinetic auto rifle
  • Ran Heritage, Judgement (Void sidearm), and corrective measure
  • Use Tears of Contrition, Gnawing Hunger, and Palmyra with a lasting impression on a Voidwalker.
  • Use Voidwalker, Witherhoard, Funnleweb, and Threaded Needle.
  • A Nightstalker Hunter with the Funnelweb Void SMG, Reckless Endangerment Kinetic shotgun, and Bump In The Night Stasis rocket launcher.

So on that note, we round off the guide on how you could complete the Destiny 2 Weekly Challenge Empty Grief. As far as the official stance on this matter is concerned, the developers are yet to acknowledge this issue, let alone give out any ETA for the rollout of a fix. As and when any of these two things happen, we will update this guide accordingly. In the meantime, the aforementioned workaround is your best bet.
