YouTube Vanced Content Not Available Error
It is recommended that you try out each of the below-mentioned workarounds and then see which one spells out success. So with that in mind, let’s get started.
FIX 1: Try YouTube Revanced
If you don’t want to get into the technicalities of fixing YouTube Vanced, you could try out its counterpart YouTube Revanced. It beholds all the same functionalities that Vanced has to offer and is working well and good without any issues as such. So download it from its official site XDA [Direct Download Link 1 | Direct Download Link 2] and install it onto your device right away.
FIX 2: Install YouTube Vanced v18.02.33
- Version 18.02.33 of YouTube Vanced comes with a patch for the underlying issue.
- So uninstall the current version of YouTube Vanced and microG apps from your device
- Then install YouTube Vanced version 18.02.33 and microG version 0.2.26.225014 from below:

- Once you have installed both apps, check if it fixes the Content Not Available error in YouTube Vanced.
- If the issue is still there, then please enable vp9 and protobuf spoof as shown in FIX 3 below.
FIX 3: Enable VP9 and Protobuf Spoof
- Launch YouTube Vanced vv18.02.33 and go to Settings > ‘Vanced settings’.
- Then go to Video’ and turn on the ‘Protobuf spoof’ and ‘VP9 Codec’.
- Now hit Restart in the confirmation dialog box. Wait for the app to relaunch.
- Check if it fixes the Content Not Available error in YouTube Vanced.
FIX 4: Create a new Account
You could also create a new Google account, sign in to YouTube Vanced using that new account, and start using it. You would no longer get the Content Not Available error.
FIX 5: Use YouTube Vanced in Incognito Mode
If you don’t want to create a new account, then you could watch YouTube Vanced in Incognito Mode and you wouldn’t get any errors.
FIX 6: Uninstall microG
Next up, you could also uninstall microG from your device and watch YouTube Vanced without any issues. However, similar to the above fix, it suffers from the same drawback- you will no longer get videos based on your recommendations and interests.
FIX 7: Try YouTube Vanced v17.03.38
- Uninstall the currently installed version of YouTube Vanced from your device.
- Then download and install the YouTube Vanced version 17.03.38.
- Check if it fixes the Content Not Available error in YouTube Vanced.
FIX 8: Edit YouTube Vanced APK
This tweak has been shared by Redditor samihamchev and requires your manual intervention to make some changes to the Vanced APK. Here’s what you need to do:
- Open Vanced manager and download Vanced (do not install it)
- Then install Apktool M and open it. Now go to Android>Data>com.vanced.manager>files>vanced>nonroot.
- There you should have the split Vanced apks. Refer to these steps to merge them into 1 APK (click exactly on the icons).
- Once Apktool M is done it will tell you exactly where the APK file was saved.
- Now open ReVanced Manager. Go to Patcher>Select application>Storage and select the Vanced apk that Apktool M just antisplit.
- Then select only these patches: Client Spoof and Hide ads(don’t touch the others) and click on patch.
- Once patching is done, at the top right corner there will be three dots with extra options.
- Click on them and select “Export APK” and save it to your device.
- Do not try to install from the manager, as you will get an error. Rather, go to the saved APK in your storage, install it, and enjoy!
