It is recommended that you try out each of the below-mentioned workarounds and then see which one spells out success for you. So with that in mind, let’s get started.

FIX 1: Use the Recently Watched Trick

As soon as the issue kicks in, i.e., the playback gets reset after a pause, you should straightaway go to the Main tab. Then find what you were watching in the Recently Watched section and play that video, it will start from the paused timestamp only!

FIX 2: Increase Screensaver timing

Since the issue starts as soon as the screensaver gets activated, so you should consider tweaking screensaver time to make it appear as late as possible. As a result, you will have enough time in hand to pause and then play the video, without the screensaver becoming active in that time frame.

FIX 3: Downgrade YouTube TV App

As already mentioned before, the culprit behind this issue is the latest YouTube TV app version 1.20.01. So you should consider downgrading to the earlier stable version that is free from this bug.   1. Head over to Settings > Apps > All Apps
