Wireless Charging not working in Pixel 7/Pro: How to Fix

In this guide, we will show you various methods to fix the issue of wireless charging not working on your Pixel 7/Pro. The latest iteration of the Pixel devices has bought in quite a few goodies compared to its predecessor. These include the likes of a new Tensor chipset, Face Unlock, and tons of new camera goodies under the hood. Apart from that, both the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro support wireless charging and reverse wireless charging as well.

Whereas the 7 Pro gives up to 23W reverse charging via any Qi-certified charger, the Pixel 7 could clock up to 20W. If we talk about reverse wireless charging, then they support up to 5W. However, it has already been documented in the past the struggle these Pixel devices had faced with wireless chargers ever since they got updated to Android 13.

It is recommended that you try out each of the below-mentioned workarounds and then see which one spells out success for you. So with that in mind, let’s get started.

FIX 1: Delete Data of Pixel Stand App

Your first course of action should be to delete the data of the Pixel Stand app and let re-populate a new fresh instance of the same from scratch. Here’s how it could be done:

  1. Head over to Settings > Apps > See All Apps and select Pixel Stand.
  2. Then go to its Storage & Cache section and tap on Clear Storage > Delete.Wireless Charging not working Pixel 7 Pro
  3. Once done, it is recommended to restart your device as well.
  4. Now check if it fixes the wireless charging not working issue on Pixel 7/Pro.

FIX 2: Deactivate Adaptive Charging

When you plug in your device to the charger at night, the Adaptive Charging feature will keep the battery charged to a maximum of 80% throughout the night. Then when it’s time for you to wake up, it will complete the rest of the charging process so that you get a fully charged device.

It determines your wake-up time using the alarm that you have set up, apart from your daily usage routine. However, as of now, this feature seems to be conflicting with wireless charging, and hence it id recommended to disable it for the time being. here’s how it could be done:

  1. Head over to Settings > Battery > Adaptive Preferences.
  2. Then disable the toggle next to Adaptive Charging.Wireless Charging not working Pixel 7 Pro
  3. Check if it fixes the wireless charging not working issue on your Pixel 7/Pro.

FIX 3: Use Safe Mode

When your device is booted to Safe Mode, then all the third-party apps and services would be disabled. And strangely, wireless charging seems to be working well and good in this mode, even though the underlying issue is due to a system update and not any third-party app. But as long as it’s doing its job, there are no complaints!

  1. Long press the Power menu to bring up the Power menu.
  2. Then long tap on Restart. This will bring up the Safe Mode pop-up.Wireless Charging not working Pixel 7 Pro
  3. Tap OK and let your device boot to Safe Mode.
  4. This should fix the wireless charging issue on your Pixel.

  • Tried all three method, wireless charging still did not work.

  • I’ve had a brand new Pixel 7 for about 5 days. Wireless charging worked fine for about 2 days, and then I started having the same problem described above (battery icon shows charging, status at bottom of screen does not, batter status in settings says “Connected, not charging.” I have tried every step in this post as well as a few others I found elsewhere, and the problem persists. I’m quite frustrated, as I opted against a much cheaper phone that didn’t have wireless charging because the charging port on my prior phone (Galaxy S9+) went bad and I could only charge wirelessly. It seems like they launched these phones well ahead of resolving some serious bugs. This is my first experience with a Google phone and will certainly be my last.

I have a pixel 7 and using an Iottie Wireless stand. It is the one with a place for the phone and for some earbuds (wireless charging case). I tried all the things listed here and i could see that safe mode worked for me. Once i rebooted I disabled the Pixel stand app in settings and things are good now.

  • I tried updating app, factory reset phone, safe mode, remove pixel app and still wont work, i contacted google support, they said it may be me pixel stand 2. The pixel stand app will crash or closed before setting up the stand. I will for now claim warranty for my stand since i have manufacture warranty.

Hi Robert, sorry to hear that. Just to reconfirm, did you try downgrading the app to an earlier version?
-First, uninstall the app, then install an older version of it from APKMirror [or any other site of your choice].
-Then search Pixel Stand on Play Store, tap on the overflow icon situated at the top right, and uncheck Enable Auto Update.
-Now launch the app and check out the results.
