In this guide, we will show you a nifty workaround using which you can unlock your Samsung device using 4 digit PIN without pressing OK. One of the most infuriating things in the tech domain is when an OEM decides what’s best for the user and forcefully implements it, without giving any granular control to the users. One such instance is when you set up a pin lock on your device.
The OEMs, especially Samsung, recommend you set up a 6-digit PIN in favor of 4, which is completely understandable, however, if you still choose the latter, then it will end ip snatching away one handy feature from you- the ability to unlock your device as soon as you enter the correct PIN. This feature is now strictly limited to 6-digit PINs and is done to convince users to stay on this PIN instead of the shorter 4 digit.
While the intention is appreciable, the way it has been implemented is definitely not. So we took matters into our very own hands and guess what, we managed to find a nifty workaround using which you can easily unlock your Samsung device even by using the 4-digit PIN without even pressing the OK key. So without further ado, let’s see how this could be carried out.
How to Unlock Samsung device with 4 digit PIN without pressing OK

- First off, head over to Settings > Security and privacy > Lock screen.
- Then choose Screen Lock Type > PIN > Input the desired 4-digit PIN
- Next, add two random digits at the end [these two additional digits will be removed in the subsequent steps].
- We have added two random digits so that it temporarily becomes a 6-digit PIN, which in turn will give us the “Confirm PIN without tapping OK” option.
- Do not use an easy PIN like 123456 or a PIN that has repeated numbers. This is because the OS will then give you a prompt [that the PIN is easy to guess] and that prompt will end up nullifying this workaround.
- Regarding this make sure that this “Confirm PIN without tapping OK” is checked.
- If that’s well and good, then select/highlight the last two digits of your 6-digit PIN.
- Finally, hit the Clear and Next buttons at the same time.
- This will remove the last two digits of the PIN and set a 4-digit PIN with the “Confirm PIN without tapping OK” still being checked.
That’s it. These were the steps to unlock your Samsung device using 4 digit PIN without pressing OK. If you have any queries concerning the aforementioned steps, do let us know in the comments. We will get back to you with a solution as soon as possible [Credits: Redditor 007_DMC for this tweak].
