Once you unlock the bootloader, you will be in a position to try out a plentitude of customizations. These include the likes of installing custom ROMs, flashing custom recovery like TWRP, or even gaining access to the system partition. This in turn is possible by rooting your device via Magisk (with or without TWRP). Once rooted, you will be able to try out mods such as Substratum Themes, Xposed Frameworks, Magisk Modules, etc.

But this is just one side of the story. On the flip side, unlocking the bootloader will wipe off all the data and could also nullify the device’s warranty.
