While the issue is attributed to the server-side, what is intriguing to note is that there exists a user-side workaround that seems to have spelled out success for some users. what you need to do is just uninstall the currently installed TikTok app and then reinstall it from the Play Store/App Store. Here’s how it could be done

  1. To begin with, head over to the Settings menu on your device.
  2. Then go to apps see all apps and select TikTok from the list.

  4. Now go to Play Store [Android] or App Store [iOS] and download its latest version.
  5. Once done launch it and the Following section should re-appear.
