Pixel 7 Pro: Multiple Profile Lags & Slow Down phone [Fix]

In this guide, we will show you a nifty workaround to address the issue of Multiple Profile lagging and slowing down Pixel 7/Pro. The ability to create multi-user sessions is quite a useful functionality as it allows you to create separate environments for work and personal profiles or for different users. Each user could have their own set of apps and settings as per their requirement in their distinct profiles.

However, as of now, it isn’t working along the expected lines for Pixel users. Numerous Pixel 7/Pro users have voiced their concern that Multiple Profiles is lagging which ends up slowing down their phone. Initially, the individual OS setting begins to get unresponsive, followed by the apps, after which the OS freezes and gives out the “The system process is not responding” after every few seconds.

In some instances, if the user switches back to the primary profile before the lag, then that lag tends to affect the primary profile as well. In this regard, there were high hopes that the latest November update might iron out this bug, but it only made the matter worse as not only the latest Pixel but reports of this issue are also coming in from Pixel 5 and 6 series. So all this begs an important question- is there a fix? Let’s check it out.

Fix Pixel 7 Pro: Multiple Profile Lags & Slow Down Phone

As of now, the only workaround through which users are able to mitigate this issue is by booting their device to Safe Mode. Once they are in this mode, they are then able to easily switch over to their second profile without any lags. However, this isn’t proving to be of much help because, in Safe Mode, all the third-party apps and services remain disabled. So even though users are able to switch profiles, they don’t have the required apps to interact with.

But unfortunately, as of now, that is our best and only tweak to address this bug. As far as the official stance on this matter is concerned, the developers are yet to acknowledge this issue, let alone give out any ETA for the rollout of a fix. As and when any of these two things happen, we will update this guide accordingly. In the meantime, the aforementioned workaround is your best bet to fix this bug of Multiple Profile lagging and slowing down Pixel 7/Pro.
