How to Install TWRP on MediaTek using SP Flash Tool

In this guide, we will show you the steps to install TWRP Recovery on your MediaTek device using the SP Flash Tool. There are quite a few MediaTek devices ruling the smartphone market as of late. And the ones from Xiaomi are right there at the top. In earlier times, they weren’t really an active participant in the custom development market. But as of late, things have taken a drastic turn, and for good. In this regard, there are a plethora of tweaks and customizations that you could try out onto your MediaTek device, be it from any OEM.

Among the available modifications, the ability to install a custom recovery like TWRP stands right there at the top. But why would you do so when the device already has built-in stock recovery. Well, this is because the stock recovery isn’t capable enough to carry out most of the advanced functionalities. At most, it could format your device or sideload a file, or boot to Fastboot Mode. On the other hand, if you install TWRP, then you are about to gain a plentiful of goodies.

These include the ability to flash ZIP and IMG files, take Nandroid Backup, mount external devices and carry out other advanced functionalities. Likewise, you could also flash the Magisk Installer ZIP (which is now a part of the Magisk App, from v22 onwards) to root your device and gain administrative rights.
