Under normal circumstances, this is the best approach and should be your go-to choice. This process works under both locked and unlocked bootloaders. Moreover,  you don’t have to worry about verifying the ROM version/build/type, etc as everything is taken care of by Xiaomi itself.

However, this is usually the slowest process out of the three as the OTA updates are rolled out in batches, so some of you might receive it later than others. But if you are looking for a complete fail-safe approach, then this should be your go-to choice. With that said, here’s how to install the latest Android 13 MIUI 14 update on Xiaomi/Redmi/Poco devices.

  1. Head over to Settings > About Phone > MIUI Version.
  2. If the update is available, it will show there straightaway.

  5. The update will now be downloaded and subsequently installed.

  1. Download “Recovery ROM” for your device from the official Mi website.
  2. You could also use a third-party website such as Xiaomi Firmware Updater.Install MIUI Recovery ROM
  3. Make sure that the ROM type is Recovery and corresponds to your region.
  4. Once downloaded, transfer the ROM to the below location on your device:
    Internal Storage > Download > downloaded_rom
    If there's no downloaded_rom folder, then create one.
  5. Then go to Settings > About Phone and tap on MIUI Version.
  6. Now tap on the overflow icon situated at the top right and select Choose Update Package.install android 13 xiaomi
  7. It should now take you to the downloaded_rom folder, select the Recovery ROM ZIP file.

But do keep in mind that this process requires an unlocked bootloader and it will wipe off all the data from your device.   1. To begin with, unlock the bootloader on your device via Mi Unlock Tool.install android 13 xiaomi
  2. Download the “Fastboot ROM” for your device from the official Mi website.

  4. Make sure that the ROM type is Fastboot and it corresponds to your region.

  11. Make sure you’re getting serial ID, if that is not the case, then install Fastboot Drivers.

  13. If that’s well and good, then click on Select, browse to the extracted Fastboot ROM [the entire folder, not just the images folder], and click OK.install android 13 xiaomi
