There exist two different methods using which you can get this job done- via the Inspect Element tweak and using the uBlock Origin extension. Via Inspect Element Tweak
- Right-click on an empty region on the Reddit website and select Inspect Element.
- Then go to the Applications tab and expand Local Storage from the left-hand side.
- Select reddit.com > right-click on the recent-subreddits-store key > select Delete.
- Finally, refresh the Reddit tab and the Recents section will be gone from the site.
Via uBlock Origin
- Download & install the uBlock Origin extension on your browser.
- Then click on it and select its Element Picker Pode [second icon].
- Now click on the Recents box and hit Create at the bottom right.
- Refresh the site and the Recent option will be gone from the site.
How to Bring Back the Recent Section in Reddit
- Click on the uBlock extension icon and then click Settings.
- Then delete both the line of code and click Apply Changes.
- Finally reload the page and the Recent section will be back.
