How to Install TWRP Recovery on Cubot

STEP 1: Install Android SDK

First and foremost, you will have to install the Android SDK Platform Tools on your PC. This is the official ADB and Fastboot binary provided by Google and is the only recommended one. So download it and then extract it to any convenient location on your PC. STEP 2: Enable USB Debugging and OEM Unlocking

STEP 3: Unlock Bootloader on Cubot

STEP 4: Download TWRP Recovery for Cubot

Next up, you will have to download the TWRP Recovery for your Cubot device. As of now, there doesn’t seem to be official support for this device. So you will have to get the recovery file from a trusted site such as XDA Developers.

STEP 5: Boot to Fastboot Mode

1. Now connect your device to the PC via USB cable. Make sure USB Debugging is enabled.
2. Then head over to the platform-tools folder, type in CMD in the address bar, and hit Enter. This will launch the Command Prompt.
   
3. Type in the following command in the CMD window to boot your device to Fastboot Mode

   adb reboot bootloader

   

4. To verify the Fastboot connection, type in the below command and you should get back the device ID.

   fastboot devices

STEP 7: Flash TWRP Recovery on Cubot

1. Make sure that the recovery has been named to twrp.img and is placed inside the platform-tools folder.
2. Now head over to this platform-tools folder, type in CMD in the address bar, and hit Enter. This will launch the Command Prompt.
   
3. Now execute the below command to permanently install the TWRP Recovery onto your Cubot device:

   fastboot flash recovery twrp.img

   

4. Once the recovery has been flashed, use the below command to boot your device to the TWRP Recovery:

   fastboot reboot recovery

5. You may now carry out the desired flashing. Once done, reboot your device to the OS via Reboot > System.
