How to Install the New Google Clock on any Android Device

There exist two different methods through which you can install this app onto your device. Go through both of them and then try out the one that is in sync with your requirements. Moreover, do note that this is a dogfood version, meaning an internal, pre-release version of the app, which is used for testing and feedback purposes. So there is a chance that both these methods might not work on your device as well. So count on your lucky stars and let’s get started.
APK Method [Non Root]
Just install this Clock APK onto your device and your task stands complete.
ADB Method [Root]
This is currently Work In Progress, suggestions are welcome.
In this method, you’ll first have to disable the existing Google Clock app on your device and then install the new one. Here’s how it can be done:[NOTE: The new Clock app, which we are dealing with in this section, is an APKS file. It’s a split APK, therefore, you’ll need an app like APK Mirror Installer to install this app].
- First, download and extract the Android SDK Platform Tools on your PC.
- Then enable USB Debugging on your device and connect it to PC via USB.
- Once done, open the Command Prompt inside the platform-tools folder.
- You will now have to uninstall the old Clock app. For that, use the below command:
adb shell pm uninstall --user 0 com.google.android.deskclock //uninstall Clock app
- If the above command to uninstall the clock app didn’t work, then you’ll have to root your device.
- Then, bring back the Clock app via the below command.
cmd package install-existing com.google.android.deskclock
- Now use any rooted system app removal to uninstall the Clock app.
- Once done, try installing the new Clock App [Credit: GoogleInternalSoft] and check out the result.
NOTE: If you are getting Signature Verification issues, then use this module or this one and flash it via LSPosed.
