How to Install Pixel Extended Android 13 ROM on Poco F4 [Video]

In this guide, we will show you the steps to install the Pixel Extended ROM based on Android 13 onto your Poco F4. It goes without saying that the Poco series have always enjoyed some of the very best custom development support, And the fourth iteration of this device has carried forward this legacy as well. Over ten AOSP ROMs all based on the latest OS build are already live for this device and plenty more are on the way.

Well, that’s not it. If we narrow our focus to the ROMs providing the Pixel-based experience with all the Pixel goodies, then there are already a couple of ones that have made their presence felt, such as the ever-popular Pixel Experience and PixelOS. And now, there has been another similar entry to this domain. You could install the latest Pixel Extended ROM based on Android 13 onto your Poco F4. And in this guide, we will show you how to do just that. Follow along.

How to Install Pixel Extended Android 13 ROM on Poco F4

The below process will wipe off all the data from your device. So take a complete device backup beforehand/ Droidwin and its members wouldn’t be held responsible in case of a thermonuclear war, your alarm doesn’t wake you up, or if anything happens to your device and data by performing the below steps.

STEP 1: Install Android SDK

First and foremost, you will have to install the Android SDK Platform Tools on your PC. This is the official ADB and Fastboot binary provided by Google and is the only recommended one. So download it and then extract it to any convenient location on your PC. Doing so will give you the platform-tools folder, which will be used throughout this guide to install EvolutionX on Poco F4.

STEP 2: Enable USB Debugging and OEM Unlocking

Next up, you will also have to enable USB Debugging and OEM Unlocking on your device. The former will make your device recognizable by the PC in ADB mode. This will then allow you to boot your device to Fastboot Mode. On the other hand, OEM Unlocking is required to carry out the bootloader unlocking.

So head over to Settings > About Phone > Tap on Build Number 7 times > Go back to Settings > System > Advanced > Developer Options > Enable USB Debugging and OEM Unlocking.

STEP 3: Unlock Bootloader on Poco F4

STEP 4: Download Pixel Extended for Poco F4

  1. You may now grab hold of the Pixel Extended for your device from the below link.

  2. Now rename the ROM file to rom.zip and transfer it to the platform-tools folder on your PC.

STEP 5: Install TWRP Recovery on Poco F4

You will now have to install a custom recovery onto your Poco F4 so as to flash Pixel Extended. For that, you could either Install TWRP Recovery on Poco F4 or Install Orange Fox Recovery on Poco F4 [Video]. As for this guide, we will be using TWRP.

STEP 6: Boot to TWRP Recovery

  1. Now connect your device to the PC via a USB cable. Make sure USB Debugging is enabled.
  2. Then head over to the platform-tools folder, type in CMD in the address bar, and hit Enter. This will launch the Command Prompt.

  3. Type in the following command in the CMD window to boot your device to TWRP Recovery
    adb reboot recovery

STEP 7: Install Pixel Extended on Poco F4

  1. From TWRP, go to Install, select the ROM ZIP file, and perform a right swipe to flash it.
  2. Once done,  go to Wipe and select Format Data. Then type YES in the space provided and hit the checkmark.Pixel Extended Poco F4
  3. Once done, go to Reboot and select System. Your device will now boot to the newly installed OS.

  • As per th steps I’ve installed pixel os on my poco f4 and right now running on the feb build… But I’m facing some issues like I can’t sent messages and thers quite a bit of heating also….
    So I’m planning to flash pixel extended or evolution x for doing that is the procedure is just the same as mentioned above?(as I’m from pixel os instead of stock os)
    Will there be any problem with encryption decryption etc….
    I’m a newbie and don’t know much about the technicalities related.
