In this guide, we will show you a nifty method to hack the Wordle Game and get the right answer within seconds. There are literally a plethora of games doing the rounds across the App Store, Play Store, and other related sources. Truth be told, they have witnessed some massive improvements in the graphics and UI/UX and have also added some pretty amazing functionalities to it as well. However, I have personally never been a fan of these titles.
Instead, I usually prefer to get my hands on the games that inculcated a sense of calm and soothing after a hectic day of work. To bring it right to the point, casual offline and the ones that didn’t involve any time limitation were the ones that checkmark all of my prerequisites. So the likes of Nanogram, WordScape, and 2048 have always been my go-to choices. And you could now add Wordle to this list as well. I was just doing SEO research and this keyword had encapsulated the entire data set.

So what exactly is Wordle?
Wordle is a word game, which you might already be aware of, but its popularity lies its grassroots- it is completely free from all the shenanigans. There are no pop-ups, ads, email to subscribe, spend your bucks to clear a level, watch unskippable ads- this game is free from all these unnecessary pieces of stuff. Well, you don’t even need to install an app, just head over to its website and the game would start within a second.
As far as the rules are concerned, you will have to guess a five-letter word and would be given six chances to do so. There are no hints given, but this very fact makes the game all the more intriguing rather than pushing it over the cliffs. So the first guess is completely random in nature and you would type a five-letter word [See HINT 1].
If any of the alphabets matches the one in the answer, it will be highlighted in yellow, and if that alphabet’s position also matches, then it would be highlighted with green. On the other hand, the alphabets that aren’t in the answer would be greyed out, both on the board as well as the on the keyboard. let’s understand it with the help of an example.
The word for the day 12th January 2022 was FAVOR. So I started out with RIGHT. Only the alphabet R matched with the actual answer, but since the positioning was incorrect, it was highlighted with the golden color. The rest four alphabets, IGHT, not being part of the answer, were greyed out.
Then my next guess was POLAR, and this, O and A were golden and R was green. So one thing was clear, the answer had the alphabet R at the end and also had the alphabets O and A somewhere in between [See HINT 2]. My next guess was MAYOR which took me closer to the answer and finally, I was able to land the correct answer, FAVOR, in the fourth attempt!
Hacking the Wordle Game: What’s the Fuss All About?
As soon as you complete the game, you will get the option to share the results across various social media channels. ANd this competitive nature of being the first in line pushed the users to complete this daily challenge and share it at the earliest. Oh, I almost forgot, you get to play one game per day, and the timer refreshes every 24 hours (See HINT 3).
So a new game generates at 12 AM in the night and within a few minutes. you would see Twitter being flooded with users owning the bragging rights to having been successfully completed the game in the shortest possible time. Owing to this, many users reached out to me and inquired whether there exists any nifty method to hack Wordle so that they don’t end up in the FOMO cycle. But should you really dirty your hands? Short answer: No. Long Answer: Still No!
Why You Shouldn’t Hack Wordle
For the obvious, it would completely ruin the gameplay experience and the sole motive of the game would be destroyed as well. But the biggest reason why you shouldn’t hack the Wordle game is that you will be able to get the answer for each day’s puzzle. So not only will you be spoiling today’s challenge, but for every subsequent day in the near future as well.
But how is this possible? Well, the developer has uploaded the answers for each day in a JavaScript file, which you could easily access quite by digging the game’s backend. And once you do so, all the answers will be right in front of you!
Is the Developer Aware of this Java Script Hack?
Most definitely yes. But he (Josh Wardle) hasn’t taken any action yet as he only made this game to play with his partner and kill off some boredom. Even he didn’t know that this game would become such a viral sensation all of a sudden (from 90 players per day in November 2021 to 3,00,000 today!). But seeing this popularity explosion, he might now refine the game by adding some new features and would surely patch this Java Script loophole as well. Until that happens, you have full liberty to get a sneak peek into the answer sheet!
I Don’t Need Hacks, But a Few Wordle Tips will be Great
Well, for the few good souls (of which I’m no longer a part) who still wish to maintain a safe distance from the Wordle game hacks, you will be glad to know that there exists a few nifty tricks that give you a great mileage towards finishing this game at the earliest. Here’s a few of those noteworthy ones.
HINT 1: “Adieu” and “Tripe” are the Wordle Hacks!
Well, starting with any random 5 letter word is an option, but not the most feasible one. Rather you should start off with a word that has the most number of vowels. For example, you could start off with the word ADIEU. Another approach is to type in a word that has a lot of commonly used letters, but where none are re-produced, such as TRIPE and COALS. Apart from that, SIREN, ABUSE, and OCTAL could also prove to be worthy contenders.
HINT 2: Eliminate Words via Online Dictionary
If you are stuck in the middle but have atleast got hold of a couple of alphabets., then you could take the help of an online directory to trim down the words that aren’t part of the answer. For example, I explained earlier that while guessing the word FAVOR, at one stage I was at the word POLAR. So I got to know that the answer had the alphabet R at the end (the green highlight thing explained earlier) and also had the alphabets O and A somewhere in between (the golden highlight).
So in such cases, you could then look into an online word dictionary (such as Word Hippo) and search for “five-letter words containing OAR”. This will eliminate most of the words and you will get a handful of words to choose. So pick up one from the list and type it in the game, but make sure not to exhaust your six chances!
HINT 3: Get Free Wordle Lives
As explained above, you get six chances to guess a word, exhaust them, and you are done for the day. Well thats’ what the rule book says. But let’s take the liberty of going into the unchartered territory and gaining a few extra tries for yourself, shall we? So all you need to do is just open a new Incognito Mode on your browser via the Ctrl+Shift+N shortcut keys and you could then start off again from scratch.
It works both across mobile and PC. One major benefit of this tweak is the fact that you already know six different methods of what you need not do while trying out the permutations and combinations! Note for the tech geeks: Apart from the Incognito Mode hack, you could also use a VPN to change the server region and start the game afresh with six new lives and yes, a new proxied IP Address as well!
How to Hack Wordle using Java Script
So for those set of users who are ready to spoil the gameplay in just a few clicks (of which now I’m a part of as well), here’s how to hack the Wordle game. As for this guide, we are using Google Chrome, you are free to use any of your choices (for newcomers it is better to be on a Chromium-based browser itself (Chrome, Edge, Opera, etc) so that you could directly refer to the below steps without the need for any modifications).
- To begin with, open a web browser on your PC and go to the Wordle website.
- Then use the Ctrl+Shift+I shortcut keys to open the browser’s Developer Console.
- After that, go to the Sources tab and select the c1506a22.js file. This is the JavaScript file that has all the answers!
- [Optional] If you get the Pretty Print option, then I would suggest you click on it. This will format the code for easy readability.
- Now click on anywhere inside the code and use the Ctrl+F shortcut keys to bring up the Find dialog box.
- After that, type in any previous day’s answer, say 12th January 2022 answer FAVOR, and hit Enter.
- It will now take you to the highlighted word. And the line in which that word exists contains all the answers to this game!
- For example, the word before FAVOR is DRINK which was the 11th January answer, or QUERY which was 10th January, and so on.
- Likewise, the word after FAVOR will be tomorrow’s answer (12th January)!
- You may further keep on scrolling to the right and get the answer for the entire week, month, or even yeat (but please don’t do that!).

That’s it. These were the steps to hack the Wordle game and ruin the gameplay experience for good. Well, I had to do so for the sake of writing this article but I hope you don’t fall into any such trap! Hey Sadique, great article. I just wanted to let you know that there is actually an easier way to know what the word is. Right-click on the page, press “Inspect”, then find the “Application” tab. After you’ve done that you want to go to the left side of the developer console and click “Local Storage”. Inside of Local Storage there will be something that says “gameState”. Select it with left-click and it will tell you the solution right below it.
