How to Get Pixel 9 Pro Add Me on Older Pixel Phones

In this guide, we will show you the steps to get the Pixel 9 Pro Add Me feature on older Pixel devices. The Silicon Valley giant has unveiled its ninth iteration of devices in its recently concluded annual event. As was expected, AI took center stage during the entirety of the event. While there’s a growing concern surrounding this sudden boom in AI, however, one cannot deny the fact that the offerings from Google have definitely been quite impressive, to say the least.

This time around, there has been a slew of intriguing AI features, such as Call Notes, Screenshot app, Pixel Studio, Weather app, Gemini Live, and Add Me, among others. Out of all these features, it’s the Add Me that has grabbed the attention of the masses [and is my personal favorite too]. However, at the time of writing, it is only available on the latest Pixel 9 series. But fret not, this guide will make you aware of the steps to welcome it abode on your older Pixel phone as well. So without any further ado, let’s get started.

What is the Add Me Feature in Pixel 9

The Add Me allows the person taking the photo to be a part of it without the need to hand over his or her phone to a stranger! Let’s say you are the photographer and you are taking the photo of two of your friends. Before doing so, just make sure to leave some space for yourself in that photo and then click it. Now remove all the other subjects from that photo [i.e. two of your friends in this case], and hand him the camera to take the next photo.

Once both the photos have been taken, the Add Me feature will stitch both of them together, i.e. take you from the second photo and add it to the first one where you had left the space for yourself. Now that’s some AI prowess to brag about! For the best result, make sure to keep the phone at the same location for both the photos and both of them should be taken in the same orientation.

To get this job done, you’ll have to root your device via Magisk/KernelSU/APatch. For the unaware, rooting does come with a few drawbacks as well, such as unlocking the bootloader and failing of Play Integrity Test [which you can pass]. So if that’s asking for way too much, then all you can do is play the waiting game till the Add Me feature lands on your older Pixel device, which might take some time [at the time of writing, there’s no official confirmation as and when that will happen].

But if you are ready to proceed ahead, then let’s get started. Before starting, please take a backup of all the data on your device. Droidwin and its members wouldn’t be held responsible in case of a thermonuclear war, your alarm doesn’t wake you up, or if anything happens to your device and data by performing the below steps.

  1. To begin with, download and install the Split APK Installer.
