In this guide, we will show you the steps to fix the Flash crclist error in the Mi Flash Tool. Every OEM has its own set of tools when it comes to flashing their firmware. But why would you manually flash a firmware in the first place when you are already receiving OTA updates? Well, there are a few instances wherein auto-installing the updates might not be the best [or rather a possible] course of action.
For example, if your device is currently in a bootloop or softbrick state, then you cannot install OTA to revive it and manual installation of the update is the only way out. In this regard, when it comes to Xiaomi, you have the Mi Flash Tool at your disposal. Using this tool, you can flash the Fastboot ROM onto your Xiaomi/Redmi/Poco/Mi device and update it to the latest firmware or bring it back to life.
However, that might prove to be easier said than done in some instances. A couple of users have voiced their concern that they are getting the Flash crclist error when trying to flash the Fastboot ROM via the Mi Flash Tool. The error message appears straight away as soon as they hit the Flash button. If you are also facing the same issue, then this guide will make you aware of a nifty workaround that should rectify this problem. So without any further ado, let’s check it out.
How to Fix Mi Flash Tool Flash Crclist Error
The culprit behind this issue is the incorrect naming scheme of the Fastboot ROM, in simpler terms, there is a space in the name of the Fastboot ROM. For example, in my case, the name of the ROM file was:
marble_in_global_images_OS1.0.9.0.UMRINXM_20240619.0000.00_14.0_in_cfcc86ebe9 (1)
As you can see, there is a spacing at the end, just before (1) and this is what is leading to this issue. So what you need to do is simply hit Rename and then either remove that spacing from the end, or add an underscore, or remove that character altogether. For example:
Using an underscore: marble_in_global_images_OS1.0.9.0.UMRINXM_20240619.0000.00_14.0_in_cfcc86ebe9_(1) Removing that Character: marble_in_global_images_OS1.0.9.0.UMRINXM_20240619.0000.00_14.0_in_cfcc86ebe9
Once that is done, reupload the ROM to the Mi Flash Tool and then flash it [after booting your device to Fastboot ROM] and you will not face any issues this time around.
