How to Extract Samsung TAR/LZ4/BIN Firmware Files

In this guide, we will show you the steps to extract the Samsung TAR/LZ4/BIN firmware files. Different OEMs pack their firmware in different formats. For example, OnePlus have it in payload.bin, Oppo, and Realme in OZIP, Xiaomi is a simple ZIP format, and so on. However, with Samsung, things are a tad bit different. They have created a loop of numerous file formats, all embedded within each other.

The downloaded firmware will be in ZIP/RAR format. Once you extract it, you will get its five files [AP, BL, CP, CSC, and Home_CSC] in tar.md5 format. Extract it further and you would get the subsequent files in .lz4 format. Further extract it and you will get the .bin file which upon the final extraction will give you the desired files. Phew! That was some journey.

In this entire process, users are able to easily get past the first step of extracting TAR and getting LZ4. However, it’s the subsequent step of extracting the LZ4 file that proves to be challenging for some users. If you are also in the same boat, then fret not. In this guide, we will show you the detailed steps to extract the Samsung TAR/LZ4/BIN firmware files. Follow along.
