How to Enable Gemini Live on any Android Device

In this guide, we will show you the steps to enable Gemini Live on your Android device. There was a lot to talk about from the recently concluded Silicon Valley giant’s event. While AI as usual took center stage, but apart from that, we were also greeted with a plethora of new and intriguing features. Not to mention the release of four Pixel devices- the ninth iteration, its Pro, Pro XL, and the weirdly named 9 Pro Fold.

If we talk about the features, then you are about to get greeted with the likes of a new Weather app, Call Notes, numerous new Camera features such as Add Me and Made You Look, the Screenshot app, and Gemini Live, among others. So let’s have a sneak peek at all these features after which we will list out the steps to bring one of them to your non-Pixel 9 devices as well!

If you are planning to get your hands on the latest Pixel devices, then you are about to welcome a plentitude of noteworthy features, including the likes of:

  • New Weather App: There’s a new weather app in town with a completely redesigned UI/UX along with a new weather widget as well. Gemini has also been integrated into it, which will give you the weather report for the day.
  • Pixel Call Notes: It will give you a full transcript of your call right after you end the call. There is no need to keep running around the house finding a pen and paper to jot down the important points from your recently concluded call.
  • Studio: The new normal in every smartphone nowadays, this app will allow you to create an image using the text prompt that you provide.
  • Screenshot: A new app housing all your screenshots, it allows you to search, organize, and save the extracted information from your screenshot [still wondering who will use this feature, when Google Photos is already capable of searching within the images].
  • Camera Features: The one domain that everyone was eagerly waiting and it didn’t disappoint a tad bit. There have been numerous new AI features added to the camera app, with my personal favorite being Add Me which will, in simpler terms, allow the person taking the photo to be added to that photograph as well! So there’s no need to ask a stranger to take a photo anymore! Apart from that, there are many under-the-hood enhancements to existing camera features [like Magic Eraser] as well.
  • Gemini Live: This feature allows you to have live free-flow conversations with Google’s AI and is only available to Gemini Advanced subscribers, which includes the Pixel 9 series users. It also works in the background and even when the screen is locked. However, using a nifty workaround, you can try out Gemini Live on your non-Pixel device as well. And in this guide, we will show you how to do just that. So without further ado, let’s get started.

NOTE: Gemini Live requires a Gemini Advanced subscription, so make sure you have it beforehand or else the below tweak might not work. 1. To begin with, root your device via Magisk.
  2. Then download the Pixel9Pro_PixelProps module.
