In this guide, we will show you the steps to bring back the old Spotify UI. When it comes to music streaming services, then Spotify has usually been the go-to choice for numerous users. There has been a major UI change this time around which has completely messed up the entire usage experience.

In the older versions, there were the Recently Played, Your Top Mixes, Made for you, and Recent Listenings sections on the home page. However, the latest update seems to have removed all these sections from the main menu.

What is even more infuriating to note is the response from the Spotify support team who just reverts with the non-sensical automated response of reinstalling the app. With that said, there does exist a nifty workaround that should help you bring back the old Spotify UI. So without further ado, let’s check it out.

In order to rectify this issue, you will have to downgrade the app to the older version and then disable its automatic updates settings. Here’s how it could be done:

  1. Head over to Settings > Apps > See All Apps and select Spotify.
  2. Then scroll to the bottom and note down its current version number.
  3. After that, tap on Uninstall > OK in the confirmation prompt.Bring Back Old Spotify UI
  4. Once the app has been uninstalled, download the older version from here.
  5. Then install it but do not launch it. Rather go to its Play Store page.
  6. Now tap on the overflow icon situated at the top right and uncheck Enable auto-update.Bring Back Old Spotify UI

That’s it. You will now be taken to the older version of the app and it would stay on that version until you manually update it from Play Store. While staying on an older version of an app is recommended for too long, however, as of now, this is our best and more importantly, only bet to stay away from that messy UI. You shouldn’t expect the developers to revert to the older UI style, so you will either have to get used to this new interface or stay on the older but acceptable UI.
