In this guide, we will show you how to fix the COD Modern Warfare Cannot Change Reticle on any Optics/Guns issue. The sixteenth iteration in the ever-popular COD franchise hardly needs an introduction or two. The game managed to grab quite a few positive receptions for its impressive multiplayer gameplay, thanks in large parts to the introduction of the cross-platform multiplayer and cross-platform progression.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to be free from its fair share of issues either. As of now, there has been a slew of complaints lined up across various forums that whenever a user is trying to change reticles, they are being kicked out of the game and to the lobby. Be it the Kar98, AX50, SPR, or the PKM, each of these weapons is facing the same issue. Users across PC as well as on the PlayStation consoles are both bugged with this issue. With each passing day, the issue is taking a turn for the worse.
The latest news is that the players aren’t even able to customize the reticles now. Well, the good news, if you would like to call one, is that the developers have at least acknowledged this issue. So a fix might be around the corners in the coming days/weeks. Until then, there exists a pretty nifty workaround that has been known to fix the COD Modern Warfare Cannot Change Reticle on any Optics/Guns issue. And this guide shall make you aware of just that. Follow along.
Fix COD Modern Warfare: Cannot Change Reticle on any Optics/Guns
Many users were able to change the reticle after going to the loadout (Blueprint) menu in the Warzone section and then accessing the desired Modern Warfare loadout from there.
Some users have also suggested creating a custom loadout (Blueprint) with the desired reticle in the Warzone section and then equipping it in the Modern Warfare multiplayer section. In this regard, here’s what one user has advised:
Go to warzone… go to weapon gunsmith… chose your optic… hit right bumper… choose reticle… when ready go back to gunsmith where you put your silencer and stock and stuff… use the left trigger update or create new modification… once saved go back to multiplayer and chose the gun u modified…
So this was all from this guide on how you could fix the COD Modern Warfare Cannot Change Reticle on any Optics/Guns issue. As of now, changing the reticles in the Warzone, creating a custom mod, and then using it in the Modern Warfare seems to be the best bet forward. The good news is that the developers have taken note of this issue.
So a patch might be around the corners. We will update this guide as and when a new update with the accompanying patch is live. Likewise, if we get hold of any other such fixes, we will add them here as well. And if you know of any such workaround that spelled out success for you, do let us know in the comments section below.
