Disable Lock Screen at Home and Enable it Outside on Android

In this guide, we will show you the steps to disable your Android device’s lock screen when you’re home and enable it when you’re outside. While Google does provide a built-in Smart Lock feature for this task, however, it doesn’t give out the desired results in most instances. So we will be taking the help of Tasker [which is undoubtedly the best automation app out there] and get this job done.

But how will we carry out this task? Well, by using your home WiFi name [SSID]. We will create a task and instruct it to disable the lock screen on your Android device when it is connected to your Home WiFi. And when you leave your home, in other words, disconnect from your Home WiFi, then it will re-enable the lock screen on your device straight away. Sounds intriguing, right? So without further ado, let’s get right into the action.

  • I cannot get this to work on my Samsung S10 Plus. It appears that Samsung’s Auto lock screen (immediately to 30 minutes) and screen timeout (15 seconds to 10 minutes) overrides the tasker profile.
