Contents are Not Centrally Aligned in Pixel 9
The ninth iteration of devices from the Silicon Valley giant beholds a slew of intriguing features up its sleeves. With the likes of the latest Tensor G4 chipset, 7 years of major OS upgrades, up to 1TB 16GB RAM, and the usual impressive camera performance, well, there’s a lot to look forward to this time around. Add to it the tons of nifty AI features, and you’re getting quite some package this time around.
If we talk about the display, then its Pro XL houses a large 6.8-inch LTPO OLED screen with support for 120Hz refresh rate, 3000 nits peak brightness, and 1344 x 2992 pixel resolution. While it doesn’t have the absolute best display in the market, but it does stand there among the top contenders. With that said, a bunch of users have reported a rather infuriating issue with these devices.
According to them, the contents on the screen of their Pixel 9 are not centrally aligned. They get a black bar to the left of the screen which ends up pushing some of the contents out of the screen from the right-hand side. Whether it’s a game or a video being played in the likes of Plex, the issue is visible across all these apps [with YouTube being the sole exception].
And it goes without saying how annoying would an experience be when you aren’t able to view the entire content on the screen or the contents are shifted towards the right instead of being centrally aligned. Fortunately, there does exist a nifty workaround using which you can easily address this concern. So without any further ado, let’s check it out.
What’s the Reason for this Issue?
The culprit behind this problem is the display cut-out aka the notch. Even though it doesn’t look to conflict with the content on the screen, but we have sufficient evidence to suggest otherwise. This is because after instructing the OS to ignore the notch, the device was again able to display the contents centrally aligned, across all the apps and games. So let’s put this fix to the test and check out the results.
How to Fix this Issue?
As already discussed before, you need to instruct the system to ignore the display cutoff. But before starting, please take a backup of all the data on your device. Droidwin and its members wouldn’t be held responsible in case of a thermonuclear war, your alarm doesn’t wake you up, or if anything happens to your device and data by performing the below steps.
- To begin with, unlock the bootloader and root your Pixel device.
- Then install and set up the LSPosed Framework on your device.
- Download the latest version of Pixel Xpert Module from GitHub.
- Launch Magisk, go to Modules, and tap on Install from Storage.
- Select the Pixel Xpert module and flash it. Once done, hit Reboot.
- Then open LSPosed, go to Modules, and enable Pixel Xpert mod.
- Now restart your device once again. Once done, launch Pixel Xpert.
- Go to the Miscellaneous section and enable Ignore Camera Cutout.
That’s it. These were the steps to fix the issue of content not being centrally aligned on your Pixel 9 device. If you have any queries concerning the aforementioned steps, do let us know in the comments. We will get back to you with a solution as soon as possible.
