Change/Repair/Fix IMEI on Qualcomm Snapdragon Devices

In this guide, we will show you the steps to change, repair, or fix the IMEI on your Qualcomm Snapdragon device. It goes without saying that the devices that boast Qualcomm as their underlying chipset are probably the most active players in custom development. Be it for custom ROMs, a custom recovery like TWRP, or a plethora of flashable mods, the Snapdragon devices are right in the front of the priority queue to get blessed with these goodies. However, this is just one side of the coin.

Carrying out these tweaks could have some undesirable consequences on your device as well. In this regard, one of the most concerning and worrisome problems is the EFS/NVRAM/QCN partition getting corrupted. When that happens, you would have to bid adieu to your device’s unique International Mobile Equipment Identity. Fortunately, there now exists a handy tool through which you could change, repair, or fix the IMEI on your Qualcomm Snapdragon device. And in this guide, we will show you how to do just that. Follow along.

STEP 1: Install Android SDK

First and foremost, you will have to install the Android SDK Platform Tools on your PC. This is the official ADB and Fastboot binary provided by Google and is the only recommended one. So download it and then extract it to any convenient location on your PC. Doing so will give you the platform-tools folder, which will be used throughout this guide.

install adb platform tools windows

STEP 2: Enable USB Debugging and OEM Unlocking

Next up, you will have to enable USB Debugging and OEM Unlocking on your device. The former will make your device recognizable by the PC in ADB mode. This will then allow you to boot your device to Fastboot Mode. On the other hand, OEM Unlocking is required to carry out the bootloader unlocking process.
