In order to rectify this issue, you will have to disable the Macro Control feature of the camera and then test out the results. Here’s how it could be done:

- Then go to Camera > Macro Control and turn on the toggle next to it.
- You would now be able to auto-focus and scan the QR Code without any issues.
Another course of action that you could take is to keep this feature enabled. Then when you launch the Camera app, it will display a macro button [when your iPhone is within a macro distance of a subject]. In such. cases, you just need to tap on the macro button to turn off automatic macro switching and then try scanning the QR Code.

It didn’t work for me IOS 16.0.3
This didn’t fix shit
This is helpful for beginners, but not a solution for the 14 pro problem, when using the Code Scanner App of Apple or a third party app. I read that there are some 14 pro users with the same problem: you can scan a QR code with the camera app, but no QR- nor barcode with the Code Scanner. The iPhone doesn’t switch to the correct lens and can’t focus the code. I am in contact with Apple since weeks and no solution of any senior advisor helped. Speaking of a luxury article of about $2.000 this is not acceptable.
Any news Dirk?
