Fix Cannot Install Apps outside of Microsoft Store in Windows 11
The reason why you are facing this issue is that your PC is currently booted to S Mode [it is different from Safe Mode!]. For the unaware, Windows in S mode is specifically aimed at a high level of security. To maintain this, the OS will prevent you from installing apps from any other source except Play Store. So to rectify this issue, you will have to simply exit this mode.
However, do keep in mind that once you exit S Mode in Windows, then you will not be able to re-enter this mode. So if that’s well and good, then let’s get started with the steps to exit S Mode on your Windows 11 PC right away which in turn will allow you to install apps outside of the Microsoft Store.
- Bring up the Settings menu via Windows+I and go to System > Activation.
- Then go to Switch to Windows 11 Pro and click on Go to the Store link.
- You will be taken to the Switch out of S mode page on Microsoft Store.
