In this guide, we will show you a nifty workaround that should help you fix the audio stuttering issue on the wireless Android Auto. The ability to mirror features of a smartphone on a car’s dashboard information and/or entertainment head unit has always been marred with issues. The latest one to make its presence felt is the automatic song skipping while using Bluetooth and a navigation app like Google Maps or Waze. For many, the issue first came to light after installing the latest update.

So the obvious fix would have been to roll back to the earlier version, which they did, but unfortunately, to no avail. Likewise, they also tried deleting the phone and stereo from their car and phone, but again, that didn’t work out for them. Re-establishing the connections also yielded the same result. As far as the Bluetooth and the wired modes are concerned, both of them are working along the expected lines, the issue is only with the wireless one.

Another infuriating thing to note is that the issue was first reported in the month of September last year and Google did release a fix a couple if months later. However, the issue has reappeared within a few months, so the ‘fix’ seemed to just act as a temporary bandage over the problem. To fix this bug, you just need to turn off Bluetooth Scanning. Here’s how it can be done:

  1. Head over to Settings > Location > Location services.

That’s it. This should fix the audio stuttering issue on the wireless Android Auto. As far as the official stance on this matter is concerned, the developers are aware of this issue, but they haven’t given out any ETA for the rollout of a fix. As and when that happens, we will update this guide accordingly. In the meantime, the aforementioned workarounds are your best bet.
