- Head over to Settings > Apps > Google App > Force Stop.
- Then go to its Storage and Cache > Delete Data > Delete.
- Now restart your device and launch Google Assistant app.
- Then go to Assistant Preferences and enable the following
Voice Match, Hey Google, Quick Phrases

As far as the official stance on this matter is concerned, the developers are aware of this issue, but they haven’t given out any ETA for the rollout of a fix.
