Apps closing automatically, touch unresponsive, poor camera on Redmi Note 12

Apps are closing automatically, Touch is Unresponsive, Poor Camera Quality on Redmi Note 12- not the start we would have wanted. The Redmi series from the Chinese OEM has always been known to offer power-packed devices at a price affordable by the masses. And its newly introduced twelfth iteration in this lineup is no different either. With the latest Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 chipset and Android 12 out of the box, there’s a lot to look forward to.

However, what might look impressive on paper might not always translate the same when put to test. And this is exactly what is happening with this device. Numerous users have voiced their concern that the camera quality is sub-par [some have even tagged it as VGA quality!], touch tends to become unresponsive, and apps are automatically closing on their Redmi Note 12. So why is this happening?

Well, unfortunately, this has now become the new normal. If you are among the early adopters of the device, then you are bound to be bugged by these issues. This isn’t just limited to Xiaomi, even the flagships from Google and Samsung face a similar fate. Fortunately, all of this is a software bug and will be rectified with the subsequent OTA updates.

But the first impression usually matters the most and if the OEM treats their initial buyers as beta testers, then it’s definitely something worthy of infuriating on the part of the end users. But this is how things stand in the smartphone industry, and Xiaomi is part of the same.

So your best bet is to wait for the next OTA to arrive [which might be bundled with the February security patch] and hopefully, most of these bugs will be quashed. There is still a high chance of a minority of bugs being unaddressed which will be rectified in successive updates. So the journey is quite long and full of hurdles and there’s nothing that we, as end users, could do from our end to ease the path.

Let’s just keep our fingers crossed and hope that the IEM releases the update at the earliest that ends up quashing the sub-par camera, unresponsive touch, and app closing automatically issues. As and when that happens, we will update this post accordingly, In the meantime, please share your valuable opinion with us regarding the device’s early usage experience in the comments section below.
